They justify the madness of spending hours sorting through piles of hundreds of semi-sorted bits for just the right pointy finger hand.

About 25 or so of my Squats were bought back when they were first released. Back then, Games Workshop and Warhammer were first hitting the US, and provided a huge increase in quality and variety or miniatures than were available before. Living in this time of abundance resulted in me having about 25 of every army. So that's where some of the Squats and their bits came from.

The others have been bought on ebay, slowly over the past decade. Since I generally only want one of a miniature, I bought various lots and sold the extras to cover the cost of the minis I kept and my extreme bits habit.

But I also generally would only sell new bits and minis that were not chopped up from lots I bought. This has given me an 40k 3rd edition box full of broken and used plastic and metal bits in addition to the carefully sorted new bits obtained before GW ended bits service and from resellers on ebay.

Part of what is nice about collecting Squats is that, if you're patient, you can get most of them on ebay for reasonable prices. And there are a finite number of Squats, without much in the area of limited edition or unreleased items.

Even including the unreleased minis, you can expect to be able to complete a collection of Squats for less than any of the other 40K armies because there are no super expensive Forge World items like those that constantly whisper through the dreams of the Eldar collector....Revenant.....Revenant....Phanto....Hungry Ghostshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01400963638180097309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-530039869894502743.post-58871095462271905962010-05-03T09:57:04.524-04:002010-05-03T09:57:04.524-04:00I love the background fluff. I usually just toss paint on a model and then wonder whey it doesn't convey what I hoped it would. That's something I need to work on.Willhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13157497644919350091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-530039869894502743.post-53212834809955608342010-05-03T08:18:45.371-04:002010-05-03T08:18:45.371-04:00Excellent post as it gives an insight into your di...Excellent post as it gives an insight into your diabolically mind where we are given a full tour on the why's and what's going on in there.

I hope we are all invited back for a glimpse into the other bikers as some of them look surreal.HOTpandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03480850003869609864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-530039869894502743.post-46537698389364696752010-05-03T08:04:44.098-04:002010-05-03T08:04:44.098-04:00Good stuff! Love Dirty D, that glove on front is pure class.

Nice walkthrough on the conversion and painting, showing not only what you did but why you did it.

From the clues of the pic of these guys and that red cloth, I also think I've bought a bunch of stuff off of you on ebay over the years. :-)

Did you collect this stuff gradually over time second-hand, or did you just sink the GDP of Belize into it during the old days?sonsoftaurushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08466971377569066201noreply@blogger.com
