And I like the idea of Termites using Drop Pod rules a whole lot.

With all the terrain bits and tank bits that have been released over the past few years, I wonder how tough it would be to make some of the Squats' relatively smaller vehicles with a basic shape of plastic cardstock plus lots of bits.

I think the Land Train and its Battle Cars could be a comparatively easy choice with its modularity. Not to say that I think GW couldn't/shouldn't make one, just that it could be a fun long-term project. Ramshackle Games has some interesting vehicles and vehicle parts, but the shipping out of the UK is really high.

And if I was doing a radical revamp, I would bring back the old Imperial Robots as part of my Squats Codex. Not every lawnmower needs to be inhabited by the soul of a mighty lawnmower warrior of yore.

I've been thinking about those Mantic gunners for a while too.Hungry Ghostshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01400963638180097309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-530039869894502743.post-37523268688114484262010-12-31T23:47:45.217-05:002010-12-31T23:47:45.217-05:00I have been thinking about converting a gang of th...I have been thinking about converting a gang of the Mantic Riflemen (Ironwatch or whatever they're called) into Inquisition Stormtroopers.

I've tried, but the urge has not gone away!CounterFetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06273543429522256725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-530039869894502743.post-68263280486601566882010-12-31T23:46:07.329-05:002010-12-31T23:46:07.329-05:00Given what GW's done in the last few years wit...Given what GW's done in the last few years with kits like Baneblades, Stompas, and Valkyries, Squat vehicles could actually work now. But agreed, could have just been left as part of the IG. Sure, most of their epic-style vehicles are (or were) too large for 40k style games, but there's no reason why they couldn't have been scaled down. Yeah, it would've taken a radical revamp of the codex, but they're doing that sort of thing now anyway.

Termites could've been the predecessor for "drop pod" rules. Or heck, they could've been relegated to a FoC slot of the Imperial Guard (a la ratlings and ogryn)--which is basically what you've suggested.

Personally, I wasn't a big fan of them back in the day, but seeing them now makes me nostalgic. I intend to convert some up as IG veterans (with a demo charge, naturally).Warhammer39999https://www.blogger.com/profile/14530221677814466120noreply@blogger.com
